Presbyterian College partners with Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy’s Lake Institute on Faith and Giving to offer the Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising (ECRF).

The Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising (ECRF) is designed for religious leaders in faith-based organizations and institutions who wish to learn more about the spirituality of fundraising and gain a core foundation in fundraising principles. The ECRF cover four key topics and includes select required reading to be completed in advance and the completion of a final project.

The ECRF provides the research, tools, and customized training to meet the growing needs of leaders in religious communities and fundraisers for faith-based organizations. The focus of the ECRF is on the cultural, organizational, and philanthropic practices unique to religious institutions. These practices in turn enable donors motivated by spiritual and religious values to experience the joy of generous giving.

Point-of-care testing empowers clinicians to use effective, fast technology to aid their decision making at the “point-of-care” to improve patient health. Pharmacy-based point-of-care testing utilizes CLIA-waived (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments -waived) tests that offer near immediate results in non-laboratory settings.  Pharmacists and pharmacies are increasingly offering this public health service to promote prevention, early detection, treatment and disease management.

Participants will gain experience evaluating and adjusting drug therapy regimens for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, counseling patients about lifestyle interventions, analyzing and interpreting self-monitoring of blood glucose results, and assessing the overall health status of patients to identify needed monitoring and interventions.

Pharmacists are responsible for a wide range of duties, from dispensing medication to developing individualized patient care plans and exchanging information with patients and health care providers. At the end of the day, however, pharmacists hope they accomplish one overriding objective: to help their patients feel better.

There is much more to being a pharmacist than dispensing medication; that is only one small facet of the pharmacist’s role in patient care. Today’s pharmacist is considered “the medication expert” within the health care profession.
