Seamless Transfer Opportunities at Presbyterian College

PC offers structured transfer pathways for students from partner institutions, facilitating a smooth transition to complete a bachelor’s degree. Agreements with Midlands Technical College and Piedmont Technical College provide benefits such as guaranteed admission, transfer scholarships, and dedicated support services. These partnerships are designed to help students achieve their academic goals efficiently and affordably.

From MTC to PC: Earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology

Presbyterian College is excited to offer Midlands Technical College students a pathway to earn their bachelor’s degree in psychology at our nationally-ranked institution.

MTC students who graduate with an associate’s degree with concentrations in applied psychology, biological psychology, or forensic psychology from Midlands Tech and have a minimum 2.5 GPA can transfer to PC to earn a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in just two years.

MTC psychology students who meet PC’s admissions requirements receive exclusive benefits:

  • Guaranteed Admission
  • Minimum $10,000 scholarship; however, transfer merit-based scholarships are available up to $25,000
  • PTK members receive an additional $2,000

Transfer Credits

MTC students can transfer up to 68 credit hours from Midlands Technical College. Sixty-one of the credits must be earned in the curriculum of the Associate of Arts in Applied, Biological, or Forensic Psychology degree. Courses will transfer as described in the Course Equivalency Chart.  

PC Psychology Students

Psychology and English majors Sarah Smathers ’24 and Sophie Sullinger ’24 presented their research on narcissistic subtypes and parasocial relationships at the 2023 International Convention of Psychological Science in Brussels. Their work, guided by associate professor Stephanie Freis, explored the under-researched area of how individuals with narcissistic traits form connections with fictional TV characters.

LAURENS COUNTY TRANSFER PROMISE

The Laurens County Transfer Promise Scholarship allows Laurens County (S.C.) students who have completed two years of coursework at Piedmont Technical College the opportunity to transfer to PC and earn their bachelor’s degree tuition-free. This exclusive scholarship is made possible by a partnership between Presbyterian College and Piedmont Technical College.


If you qualify, PC will offer you full tuition for your third and fourth year of undergraduate study as you complete your bachelor’s degree. You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress to receive free tuition in year four, which means you must earn a minimum 2.00 GPA and pass 67% of the courses you attempt. PC’s commitment is to provide students with full tuition and fees as they complete their bachelor’s degree, including all applicable federal and state financial assistance for which students qualify. The Laurens County Transfer Promise Scholarship is last dollar up to tuition and fees.

Eligibility requirements:

  • You must reside in Laurens County (S.C.).
  • You must have completed two years of coursework at Piedmont Technical College with a minimum of 60 credit hours. These hours may include Middle College and dual-enrollment courses.
  • Your cumulative GPA must be 3.0.
  • You must complete the FAFSA.

How to Apply to PC

When applying to transfer to Presbyterian College, follow these steps:

Request official transcripts from Midlands Technical College and any other college or university you have attended.

To receive the maximum financial aid, file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); use PC’s FAFSA code 003445.
